Could a radioisotope generator be used to garner energy from the Van Allen radiation belt?

The Van Allen radiation belt is a torus of energetic charged particles surrounding the earth. Many of the particles floating in the Van Allen belt are radioactive. Could a radioisotope generator on board a satellite be used to generate electricity using radiation from the Van Allen belt?

logically speaking I say no, but its possible but we have long way to go

  • Radioisotope is not needed. Looks up Nikola Tesla and you will be at the start of how to generate electricity from the area surrounding you. Google zero point energy and you will be over whelmed with information.
