Airplane Color Question?

Watching the movie Pearl Harbor and I noticed a variation in some of the aircraft that has me a little puzzled. I noticed the Japanese ZERO airplanes that were in the movie were shown in two different colors. Some were white and some were green. Is there a reason for this or is it just some C/G effects guys version of the events?

These T-6 airplanes have been massacred in many colors -

I recall them from the Van Nuys airport, Los Angeles -

A whole squadron of them, some with WW-2 Luftwaffe markings -

Some with Japanese disguise, some painted Navy SNJ, some USAAF -

I recall also the squadron of Corsairs for "Ba-Baah Black Sheep" -

There were 7 (?) of these Corsairs - all were different -

Some with 3 bladed propellers, some 4 blades etc.

And the "Zeros" were all T-6s -

A buddy of mine was "Japanese pilot" in his T-6 -

He probably ate sushi and sashimi all week long to please the director -

Hollywood is not too eager on accuracy of airplane details -

The article is pretty good. There was only one real Zero in Pearl Harbor (and it was a very hokey movie), the spinner is much bigger and the cowling much tighter. The rest were T-6s modified back for Tora, Tora, Tora.

Making a guess, maybe to signify leaders/higher ranks?

Also I'm pretty sure it could just be slight model variations in the zeros fleet.
