When and how can I trim my Elfin Thyme?
I have Elfin Thyme planted in some paths. It's growing great and staying low in some of the paths that have high traffic. I have one spot that doesn't get high traffic and it's started to grow really long and bushy. I love the look as it gets the flowers when it's bushy but it tends to get brown and dead looking if you look deep underneath. Can I trim this up in the fall or spring to give it a fresh start again for next year? If so, how far from the root should I trim?

When my thyme starts to look brown and sad after flowering I give it a haircut with some sharp scissors. Just try not to cut more then half of a branch off.
