What did you do today for Lammas?

I hung out with my boyfriend, seeing as how our five month is Wednessday and I probably cant see him. We watched movies and played flutes and a guitar. It was really fun. I was supposed to meet his aunt and cousin too, but that didn't happen :(

I make special meals to celebrate these holidays and wear harvest colors, and burned some of the candles I made at Imbolc in harvest colors. I took a long bubble bath in my stone tub with the candles for a nice element-balanced meditation.

Also this time of year I start using sage in cooking and for incense. The reason is that it’s the herb that symbolizes wisdom, and at this time of the symbolic nature deities begin to age, and this is associated with wisdom.

So, for dinner I made roast chicken stuffed with sage, a big loaf of garlic bread, and asparagus. Chicken and asparagus are symbolic of male energy, and as the sun god/oak king/corn god sacrifices himself to feed the people, it’s appropriate to honor him. Bread for the wheat harvest. I bought a blueberry pie for dessert; not only for the berry harvest but because berries are the first fruits of the harvest goddess/mother figure. It’s a good time to drink wine, especially young wine.

For breakfast I made blueberry pancakes from scratch, which incorporates both the wheat from the male god and berries from the female goddess. I also made blackberry sorbet, although that’s mostly for me. Peaches I’ve noticed are cheap and sweet and in peak season, so I’ve bought a bunch for snacks. Peach desserts would be appropriate as it’s harvest time for those also, but my family likes blueberries better.

So pretty quiet but it was nice.

There is no reason for this, waste of 10 points in my opinion.
