Kentucky getting a Sprint Cup race?
Have you all heard about that? I'm watching The Hub, and they just mentioned that Kentucky is getting a Cup race next year. That's very exciting news for me, being that I live in Kentucky. I know the Nationwide races have been great there. I feel that the Cup races will be even better.
Yeah, I do somewhat agree with you all. The main reason I am excited is because of the fact it's so close to me. BUT, the design of this track provides better racing than many of the other "normal" mid sized tracks from my experiences there and watching the races. I think many will be surprised in a racing aspect.
I can't agree on the "add another road course" comment. I find road course racing quite boring to be honest. I just could never get into them at all.

I think that would be great. There are a lot of tracks on the Nationwide circuit that are awesome but the Cup series doesn't visit. I think new and exciting tracks could be the solution to the empty seats. Don't get me wrong, there are great tracks on the Cup circuit, but some tracks like Fontana, New Hampshire, etc. could go without a second date. Giving fans only one opportunity to visit a track per season and introducing some new ones that can give people in different regions of the country a chance to see a race close by could help with attendance.
I'm excited about this, I think this race can be a success.

I don't know why, but Kentucky's always been sort of an oddball in terms of cookie cutter tracks. Meaning, it's sort of fun to watch races there. I've always liked the track, and I do think it deserves a date on the Cup schedule- however, the choice to add second races for both Kansas and Vegas isn't very wise...considering how hard it is to get seats right now, why not shift back to short tracks or maybe even road courses? Right now the concern should be boosting television ratings rather than the size of the grand stands.

I agree the Nationwide races were good there and was happy to see a date go to Kentucky.......if they pulled a race from Fontana or Atlanta. I think they are pretty boring and Atlanta doesn't fill them stands.
Many people say they are taking Nascar away from its southern roots....I think transplants and growth are taking the southern roots alltogether out of the south...losing Nascar's popularity with it, such as the Atlanta and Memphis metro areas.
Anyway I hope they leave Loudon and any other track under 1.5 M

truthfully they'd desire to do away with 1 of the races at California, Phoenix, and Texas (especially Texas). I dont see what's so stable approximately that music truthfully and that i dont think of they want a race from all 3 quad ovals interior the chase, they'd desire to have a street path in there. JMO. in spite of the undeniable fact that it wouldnt smash My heart interior the least if Kentucky doesnt get a cup date. Edit: as for Pocono. all of us says they shoudl do away with 1 of the races there yet i think of that is between the extra unique tracks on the time table and going there two times in basic terms throws a curveball to all the communities. so i like Pocono.

Something tells me NASCAR will regret adding ANother track to its schedule. We'll see what happens and what track is going to be knocked down to 1 race. I think California should lose its Chase race and move Richmond or maybe...Vegas to its spot and move Kentucky wherever they took that race from. But yea, We'll see. I'm not THRILLED about it, but im not Pissed/ Only time will tell how the racing will be.

get away from the 11/2 mile tracks, more 3/4 or 1 mile tracks get some excitment back in nascar

yes they are getting a date and from what i have been reading they got Chicagolands date. or the week after . i do know they are moving a few dates around and it would make sense..since Kentucky is between Daytona and Chicago

Like they need another 1.5 mile track. One word BORING. Give Darlington there 2nd race back or give us another short track race. But not another 1.5 mile cookie cutter race. No wonder NASCAR is losing their fans.

I don't like it, it's another normal 1.5 mile oval, we have too many of those. I like the unique tracks, and I wish if they were going to add another race that it would be a road course.

I'm kinda excited. This gives me an excuse to visit my relatives in Georgetown more often!
