I need to know how to save information from my laptop so I can transfer it to my desktop without using a USB.?
The USB ports are not working and the information that we need is needed right now. We cannot wait to have the computer fixed. Is it possible to transfer programs and file information via DVD? Real help is appreciated.

Transferring data, audio or video files is possible by copying the files on to a CD or DVD disk and moving them over to another computer. Programmes are slightly different in that a programme has to be installed - usually by using the programmes installer file, not just copied onto the hard-drive and opened.
You could also email small files (limit usually depends on the ISP) to yourself! Which means you could retrieve the emailed file from any computer once you have logged on to your email browser.
