How much baby food should my 5 months old eat per day?
At his four month checkup my ped. said he can have 1 jar per day. I want to know is he only suppose to eat one jar now that he is 5 months or can he have like cereal in the morn, half a jar for lunch and then a jar for dinner??

My guys are 4 months old. For solids I give them EACH:
3pm 1 TBLS oatmeal, 1/6 babyfood jar prunes (about 0.5 ounces)
7pm 1.5 ounce organic veggies (homemade babyfood - a little more than 1/2 a jar)
11pm 1/2 TBLS rice cereal
I might mix up the order, but the amount of veggies, cereals, and prunes (to keep them regular) stays the same. The jars stay good in the frig for 3 days, so you don't have to give the entire jar in one day.

The best thing to keep in mind is to feed your baby until they are full. That can be hard for some to tell because not all babies will stop eating when they are full. Being around them day to day will allow you to see a pattern and you wil be able to decide what is enough for them. For example, when a baby gets full they will show less interest in eating and they may blow their cheeks full of air. All babies are different and yours may do something different.
I started out feeding my son a third of veggies, fruits and meat all in one sitting, then gradually moved to half a jar of each. My son is almost 7 months old and I feed him half a jar of all three, once in the morning around 11 and again at night around 6.

Cereal and half a jar. Cereal should be about the same as half a jar. Or you can do fruit and the dinner meal like turkey and rice. Just to make sure they get plenty of nutrition.

I would give a small jar in the morning before the bottle
then afternoon i would give a little cereal
then dinner time i would give another small jar while we eat
then a scoop of cereal in the night time bottle

My daughter was eating a jar in the morning and a jar in the evening at that point.
I actually did half a fruit and half a veggie and used the other half that night.
