When BP says much of the oil has 'dispersed', what does that really mean?
1) It is still oil doing damage but has moved away from the well-head.
2) It is still oil, but not doing damange.
3) It is no longer oil but is something else and has moved away from the well head.
4) It is no longer oil and is no longer doing damage.
5) Make up your own answer.
Majestic : Is it still oil?
Tommy : OK. Now what does 'neutralize" mean? Is it still oil? Where is it now?
Biagon: What does 'disappeared" mean. Can't see it? But is it there somewhere and is it still oil? Will it re-appear and where?
M&T :It is now small particles. OK. Particles of what? Cheese? And exactly where did they disperse to? Wisconsin?
Oil Soaked Walrus: So it is still there in the Gulf just lurking. Waiting for all to feel that it is safe to go back into the water.
M&T : You eat it.

Beats me. I live here and I don't know what it means.
I guess we will find out in the coming years if our kids grow a third ear and the fish disappear.
My town is based on tourism. This summer killed us and we don't know how they are going to react next year. Will they trust the water? Will they eat the fish?
BP and the Coast Guard tell us to simmer down that its all ok now.
But the University of South Alabama took water samples a few weeks ago to test the water.
It looked perfectly clear but the Industrial strength beaker they put it in exploded.
BP has been running up and down the coast trying to hire as many of our Marine Biologists as they can, putting them under contract for the 8 hours a professor has to do independent research.
They are paying them $100,000.00 per year so they can't testify in court against them.
So why did the beaker explode? Guy can't say anymore. He's under contract to BP now.

in this united states is it extra worthwhile to sue than to artwork. Skimming oil you may gets a commission possibly $50 an hour. Wait till the oil reaches the shore and then sue BP, Transocean, Halliburton, the Coast shield and FEMA and you may get $3,000,000. After Katrina a lot of people worked no longer hardship-free to rebuild, and have been given little. meanwhile different clogged the courtrooms and walked away lots richer. They DID study after Katrina.

It means that the chemical they sprayed on it has made it into particles so small that the tiniest sea organisms can no longer avoid inhaling or ingesting it, along with the chemicals. Of course, if they hadn't sprayed, the oil particles would have been too big to kill the microorganisms, but would have then killed the larger sea life which we would be ble to see when they died. Now that the microorganisms are dying, no sea life in the area will thrive. Now THAT'S what I call using your noodle, BP.

It means they want to get out of paying for any damage. So , if they pretend it isn't there, it must not be there. It is sad how many right wingers that support BP over the Gulf.

Typical BS. Now the oil is on the surface and moving toward shore or out to sea. Since when is oil soluble in water. MORE BS.

75% of the oil will be neutrallized by the sea water just like the massive pollution of Mt. St. Helens was absorbed

The majority has been either cut down to a less destructive level or broken down into particles by natural process or inorganic dispersants.

It means they figured out a way to make it sink to the bottom so no one can see it and avoid fines...

They are just repeating what Obama's people are saying. It is gone. Rush was right.
