Would you like to see NASCAR fans should have more influence over the schedule that NASCAR makes?

Like a fan vote for tracks?

No I wouldnt like to see the fans have more influence on the tracks because if you did we would have 36 split between Daytona or Talladega.

NASCAR is not a democracy. NASCAR is a business. Fans do have a voice in which venues get races. They vote with their butts, If their butt is in the grandstand or if it is planted on the couch watching the race the event is a success and will continue.

Fans already do have control over the schedule. When people fill up the stands, that track keeps it's races.

I look at it this way, thats probably the only way we will get rid of Bortana, the real issue with Fontana is dang Brian France has a place in Palm Springs, and its not that far from Fontana we need to burn his house down.. Nascar just needs to listen to the fans more when it comes to tracks. But Mr Money Bags Bruton Smith will always get his way, again its all about $$$$$ and more $$$$ thats all Nascar cars about.

Go Sale Jr..Get your butt back in the top 12

  • If the fans would actually support the track...then absolutely.

I remember watching racing at The Rock...Rockingham.. And then it closed and everyone threw back their heads and howled...yet it was closed because even in the best of times that place was hard to fill...so it wasn't supported by the fans attendance. Maybe thats the same way with Atlanta...who knows the reasoning...but I do wish that they would have taken a race from Pocono instead.

Source(s): Thank you K.I.A . Crappy dates would put a damper on attendance.

    No.

Number one, Brian France is too stupid to acknowledge the voted results (example the chase).

Secondly, it's usually only the few complainers who makes the most noise, but the majority who is already satisfied with a situation usually remain quiet and content until something is changed to where they don't like it.

What NASCAR really needs is someone who is intelligent enough to recognize what the sport needs and also respects the sport enough to know when something needs changing and something needs to be left alone. Someone other than Brian France.

absolutely not. look what happened to the baseball all-star game when the fans started voting for that. it instantly became a joke, with players who sit out the season with injuries getting voted in as starters. if you let the fans start voting on when and where races are to be held they'd end up racing figure 8 tracks on tuesday mornings or something. fans are stupid.

@maggie: in defense of the rock, part of the reason for it's weak attendance was that it had crappy dates. late in it's run the 2 races at the rack were in february and november. that's football weather. i remember going to one of the last feb races at the rock and i froze my butt off. i also remember years before that camping at the speedway for the entire weekend when it had a warmer weather date, and i remember the stands being full back in those days.

We are supposed to be a Democracy after all..

Unfortunately $$$$$$$$ talks, so....NA$CAR won't go for it.

But it would be interesting to see which tracks would stay, which would go, which would make debuts that aren't currently on the schedule and what not..

since the casual fan doesn't actually go to races it would be a terrible idea

Kinda like the same influence we have on our government? Yeah.

It aint gonna happen anytime soon. It's beyond our jurisdiction, The govt. aint though.
