The United States have set certain passport requirements that must be met if the passport is issued after a certain date, like passports must have a digital photograph if issued after the 26th of October 2005, or must have an electronic chip if issued after the 26th of October 2006.

All passports issued by the British Passport Agency or the IPS since 1998 meet the requirements of the U.S. Visa Waiver Programme.

You will need a prior online authorisation (ESTA) to travel visa-free. It is presently free of charge.

No 100% sure a non RFID passport wil not be accepted, recently returned from the states.
