Um, now I haven't taken a government class in a little while, but last time I checked our entire system of government was BASED on the premise that the people elect representatives to vote and thus "run the country" in the way they feel is best for the people who elected them. These "idiots" didn't fall out of the sky into the Capitol Building.....we ELECTED them. Even on the state level there are elected representatives determining policy for that particular state. So, the people ARE running the country- by electing people to do it for them. That's a Representative Democracy or a "Republic"- that's AMERICA.
