Christians what do you think of hell?
I dont doubt the reality of hell. But, I was thinking the other day of how many people go to hell. Some people who simply were just stubborn atheists could get an eternity of torture? How could a loving God do this, when He is fully aware of humanities occasionally stupidity. I think there must be more to it than that.

Hell is one of those subjects that makes people uncomfortable. We hear stories of hell being a place of fire, demons, and endless torment. Throughout history many authors have written about it -- Dante's Inferno, for example. Western culture is very familiar with the concept Even Hollywood has made it the subject of many movies. Whatever the context, whatever the belief, hell is definitely taught in the Bible. But even the doctrine of hell is not without its controversy. Some say it is only the grave with no consciousness. Others say it is a place of correction and punishment that is not eternal. Others say it is an endless agonizing punishment in fire. Whichever it is, hell is the total absence of the favor of God.
A loving God would never send anyone to hell

You should doubt the reality of hell. The fire and brimstone and eternal torment types are calling their own god a liar. He's already said in the bible that the wages of sin is death - not an eternal life that's really going to suck. He also has already said in the bible that the dead know nothing - not "except torment". The second death is complete destruction - not eternal torment. That's why it's called "the second death" and not "soul roasting time".
I am not a christian, but I do hate when people make my christian friends look bad by calling their own god a malicious sadist who is willing to torture people for all eternity for simply not being able to force themselves to believe the "right" things. Especially when the bible also tells us that only YHWH/the holy spirit can call people to him, so if he doesn't call them, they do indeed go to sheol by default. He doesn't call everyone, obviously. He even works to make sure some people DON'T come to him or do as he commands (such as Pharaoh). How much does have to make their own god look evil before it rejects them outright as well, I wonder?

Here's the actual truth concerning the belief in hell. There is no such place. First the church claimed that hell was in the center of the earth. But, you know what is found if we send a probe through the center of the earth? Nothing. Just the earth's core. No hell. No devil. No demons. No human souls being tortured. No eternal damnation. No lake of fire. The fact is that hell is a concoction of the church leaders. It is a tool to force weak minded people to obey the church. A threat to control the masses. The Catholic church has turned peoples fear of hell in to a money making endeavor by telling families that if they do not pay the church a sum of money that the church decides on, then the church will not get their loved ones into heaven and that they will go to hell. The church wields hell as a threat in a similar way to that of parents who threaten their children with the bogeyman if they do not obey.

Yes, we have a loving God who gives us all kinds of chances to accept Him--yes, there will be many people who will be very stubborn and reject God and Jesus Christ----they've had many, many chances and plenty of time to turn from false relgions and idols. But sad to say, as said in the Book of Revelation---some will not turn away and will spend eternity in hell.
God loves us but some will not accept this love and honor Satan's ways. When we do not honor God and live in a disobedient lifestyle...we suffer consequences. Cant always blame God for everything, that's another way to not be accountable for your own actions.

Yes god is love and he loves all of us, however, god does not love sin. He'll was really for Satan and his demons. God does not really want to hurt any of us. However, there can be no sin in heaven. No sin. Yes there are people who are sinful and foolish and god knows that but everyone has a choice to choose Jesus. That is what makes us humans so beautiful. God try to reach us through his spirit and gives us a choice to listen and choose him. The reason is that when Jesus comes back to take those who chose him home those who chose him will have chose him willingly. Some one who can not separate themselves from the world and choose Jesus would not be happy in heaven wishing to continue. To live in sin and there can be no sin in heaven which is why those going to heaven must choose Jesus willingly. Like I said god does not want to destroy any of us it is sin he wants to get rid of. For tis read on god tells us that we should spread the good news to everyone telling them about jesus' love. In that way we can do our part in helping bring as many people to Jesus and in to gods kingdom in heaven. When Jesus comes to take his children home everyone will have heard the good news. Everyone will have been presented with a chance to chose Jesus. Unfortunately there will be some who will not have chosen Jesus. They will be put in he'll. Which is sad but the only way of riding the world of sin. Also I might add that those in he'll would nit burn eternally. It would be for time, and then they would die with no chance of coming back again. If you don't want see any loved suffering in he'll do your part and tell about the love of Jesus. I hope this has helped, and god bless!

I think there's way more to it than any of us realize. God is just and righteous. Nobody will go to hell who does not deserve to, but that's not for us to decide. If the stubborn atheist dies, meets God and chooses hell anyway, then would you think God cruel for sending them there? So if God reveals this choice to us while still alive and that person chooses hell, why does that make God cruel? They know the choices and the consequences. Just because they choose not to believe the messenger does not free them from the consequence of that choice. Anyway, like you said, it's far more complex than we tend to see it, and luckily God is the judge, not us.

The bible only says that Satan, Antichrist and the false prophets will be tormented day and night in eternity in the lake of fire. For the poeples who not is listed in the book of life, it says they will be trown to the lake of fire, but for them its the second death.
His winnowing fork is in his hand, and he will clear his threshing floor, gathering his wheat into the barn and burning up the chaff with unquenchable fire."(Matthew 3:12)
Note that he will burn it up, only the lake of fire is eternal and unquenchable to torment Satan in eternity.
And if hell is eternal torment, whats than the point to be christian and get eternal life? If you regardless have eternal life in hell?
“Enter by the narrow gate. For the gate is wide and the way is easy that leads to destruction, and those who enter by it are many. For the gate is narrow and the way is hard that leads to life, and those who find it are few. (Matthew 7:13-14)
Note that the broad gate leads to destruction, not eternal torment. And the alternative is life, so than you cant have life(eternal) in hell too.
I think God will judge rigtheous, maybe for exampel Hitler will burn in the lake of fire for longer time than good non-christian peoples?

God is fully aware of humanity & he gave us a brain to think for ourselves. People have brains to choose heaven or hell!! If they want heaven they must live for God, other wise to hell they go.

God does love us but He is also a God of wrath, when a person refuses to acknowledge His Righteousness they are hating on Him, they are shaking their little puny fist at Him and saying they know better, they do not need Him. He has given us what we need to know Him in the Bible it is up to each of us to accept or deny Him.
Besides, it is not only unbelief in Him but sins committed against Him, breaking the 10 commandments once is sin and we all do it, we NEED His forgiveness through Jesus Christ.

Exactly. Millions of people being sent to Hell because they weren't the right religion, or simply didn't believe in God because of lack of clues of existence.
It doesn't make sense, and that's why I don't believe in it.
