If he's a UK citizen why would he use an American for citizenship? He has an EU passport that allows him to live work anywhere in Europe without a visa and easy access to any Commonwealth country. Plus with a degree from a Canadian uni he would have no problem finding a US employer to sponsor his visa if he just wanted to live there like all the other Canadians living and working in the US. Why would he want a US passport that only allows him to live and work in the US? Normally it's Americans marrying Europeans for a passport so they can get European citizenship so they can live or work anywhere in Europe and with a UK passport can easily move to Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Hong Kong, South African and many other countries. Nobody with a passport from a European country marries and American for citizenship when it would take 5 years to become a citizen anyway and you have to stay in the US. With a European passport you can live in Sweden or Spain or Switzerland or Scotland without any visas

If you never met him or have seen on the web camera, 90% he is not real person. Just somebody who wants money from you. As was said before - scam.
They can work in different ways. But, basically, first he/she will say that not enough money for travel, embassy, or any other reason. After again some other reason.
At the end you will loose money, brake your heart, and get nothing.
Any time, when you hear word Nigeria, be careful.
Sure, you can be lucky, but anyway, think well first.

Just be aware that there is an internet scam going around where Nigerians claim they are something they're not. They claim they need you to forward them the money to fly to the United States, and once they're there, they turn out to be NOTHING of what you imagined (99% of the time, the pictures are fake). Then, because you don't have the money to send them home, they stay ... usually with the victim.
Nigerians have been pulling scams over the internet for years. In fact, it's called "419" ... the Nigerian Criminal Code charge for Internet Fraud. First it was lotteries, then church scams, now this. Keep your guard up. If you haven't seen him on webcam, I suggest you do! And don't allow him to come and see you until you've done so. He could be married, planning on bringing his wife and children to America.
If the backgrounds in his pictures are blurry but he's in focus, it means the pictures have been taken professionally. Beware!

In the UK you can not get citizenship unless one of your parents are born their . Chances are he is not a citizen of the UK.
My husband is Nigerian. I have seen his friends play games on woman and i have seen some not. So just follow your gut, but remember he may not be a UK citizen

How are you dating him if he's in Nigeria? No one moves to Nigeria.
Have you EVER MET HIM?
You have to actually have seen him in person to be dating...
BTW: when he asks to borrow money for plane fare (fill in the many reason he may use) - DON'T DO IT.
How naive can one be?
Finally, if you don't pa=lan to marry as you pointed out so smuggly - then why post in marriage category???

Your gut instinct is telling you that this won't end well for you. Your should listen.
Let me guess...you met him on the internet. Let me also point out, just in case you've been in a coma for the last decade, the rash of internet scams originating in Nigeria.

Long Distance = No Relationship.
Most people from UK and Canada /do not/ want to move here.

Does he also have a large inheritance he needs to get out of the country?
If the pictures look like he's modeling, they are probably pictures of a model.

dont fall for the okey doke! Most Nigerians are only looking for a way in the country and will do it by any means necessary...date him all you like, but dont marry him!

You'll see his passport when he comes to visit. However I am wondering if he's just gonna disappear once he gets to the U.S.
