just explain to him that it would be nice for him to dress up and clean up a bit, that it would be special for you, etc and all that stuff.

Well first off, I have to admit I'm pretty impressed that you would at least give this guy a second and third chance at a date after he bombed the first time! He should realize how lucky he's been! Most girls give a guy one chance and that's it, without even explaining what he did wrong or letting him have a chance to fix it. So kudos to you!

I would just be honest. Bring it up casually. Maybe ask him if he ever dresses up for things? It's possible that he doesn't own any nice clothes, in which case, you need to take him shopping sometime. Tell him that he's a good looking guy and that you'd like to see him in something other than sandals and a backpack, just as I'm sure he'd like to see you in maybe a bikini sometime.

It's great to see guys who cares about his attire, because it's a part (only a 'part' because personality counts...) of gesture to better yourself everyday.

I think one key for guys to get interested in how he dresses are what his hobbies or general interests are. Sports, Hobbies, Movies or celebrity he likes, type of music, where he works. Find out the style he might like and start shopping with him.

- Go on a date where he can't dress down.

- See if he has a role model, athlete, musician, celebrity, compliment the role model and ask him if he would wear something similar.

- always compliment when you see a change. keep that conversation going too.

LOL i know exactly what you are going through. Tell him that you are planning to go out to eat and made reservations to a top notch restaurant and be like im wearing blah blah blah what are you wearing? LOL i hoped this works

on your next date go to the mall and walk around, then "notice" a cute shirt or something and make him try it on. then say ooh that looks GREAT on you! and make an outfit out of it. make sure you tell him how great it looks and always make suggestions on how good other things would look. dont be negative and tell him he looks bad, just tell him that he wuld look better in something else.

You can buy him an outfit that you would like to see him wear.
