Anyone know what could be wrong with car shaking?
Hey i bought a dodge grand caravan about 3 weeks ago. It drives fine until you hit about 35 then it starts to shake. Only while you are pressing on the gas though it stops when you let go of the gas and also stops after you hit around 50 mph. Anyone have any idea what could be wrong with it? Also any ideas of the costs? Our mechanic was on vacation and I don't think we will be able to get to see him until Monday or Tuesday. Thanks!
Did get it used. I know that it has been in a few minor mishaps (can tell by looking at it) not sure of any major ones though everything looks pretty original. Guess I don't know that for sure though.

If you can see the pulleys, have the engine idling and have someone press the gas to around 2 - 3k RPMs. If you see any of the pulleys wobbling then that's the one that has a worn bearing. The other items it could be is a wheel is out of balance, the struts are worn, tie rod is worn or the sway bar has worn brackets.

Did you buy it used? Cars that have been in a big accident before but not totaled can have this happen often after they are fixed. I had a car and got into an accident got it fixed then it did this as well. I am not sure what the costs are though, I never got it fixed. Got rid of it soon after.
Hope this helps.

It depends what you mean by shake? does it feel like wheel wobble or is the engine juddering (misfiring) would be hard to diagnose with roadtesting. If its misfiring you could check your filters, plugs and leads. If its wheel wobble, you can check your wheel nuts and also jack it up and check for any play in the suspension/wheel bearings by moving the wheel side to side and up and down.

it could be a small thing like wheel balancing or a bad tyre , but it could be structural if you have to use the vehicle try not to go over 30mph until you get it checked out .
