L Visa extension in China ?

I have a 30 days L visa that I want to extend. Do I only have to go to the PSB of the city where I will be and ask them for an extension?

are there any specific documents to show?

is it necessary to have financial proofs for financing the extra duration? should be proved through bank account or just cash? if so, how much money? is there any trick to avoid that ?

is harder with some PSBs and easier with some others? or is it the same? if different, what cities are better?

What is the best timing to ask for a visa extension? on the last day before the visa expiration? or few days before ? how many days before the expiration?

Thank you in advance :-)

I'm not sure if you understand exactly what the PSB is. The PSB is the vast Public Security Bureau apparatus of China, it employs millions of people, and visa administration is one tiny corner of its responsibilities. Visa applications are handled by a distinct unit within the PSB known as the Entry Exit Administration Office. There is at least one Entry Exit Administration Office in every province plus the cities of Beijing, Tianjin, and Shanghai.

You must have a compelling reason to remain in China in order to be granted a visa extension. You must meet all of the same requirements that you met to obtain your original visa plus have a reasonable explanation why more time is needed. You need to bring your valid passport, temporary residence certificate (or hotel records), 2" x 2" recent color photo of yourself, and any supporting documentation that validates your statements. Payment is collected when you retrieve your documents.

Do not wait until the last day of your visa's validity to apply for an extension. If your visa application is subsequently declined, then your original visa will have expired and you'll be an illegal alien. That carries an automatic fine of 5,000 yuan plus deportation at your own expense.

All PSB Entry Exit Administration Offices are run identically. The exact same criteria are used to assess every application. There are no "tricks" as you so colorfully suggested.

Realise that the rules change all the time and also that different have different rules.

The safest way is to have a planned stopover in HK so you can get a new visa.

Otherwise it is just a matter of heading to the Entry-Exit office in the city you are in and applying for an extension. Sometimes this is not possible, Guangzhou doesn't give extensions but requires you to apply through HK.

You don't need any proof of finances or anything like that.

particular of course ! whilst submitted with a visa application, many countries evaluate a missive of invitation to be an expert record. If a guy or woman falsifies or misrepresents a guy or woman or their relationship for the objective of helping a distant places citizen acquire an get right of entry to visa, she has broken the regulation. Visa letters of invitation could basically be written whilst the corporate has a actual relationship with the guy asking for it. Passports could be valid for no less than the subsequent 6 months once you enter China and have 2 completely sparkling pages. One web page is for the visa, the different is for the stamp.
