I fried my MSI 890 GXM-G65 AMD 890 GX motherboard. What should i do?
I have AMD Phenom II X6 1055T processor
MSI 890 GXM-G65 AMD 890 GX motherboard
2X2GB Corsair DDR3 1333 Mz RAM
Elite 430 Black Cooler Master PC Case
Cooler Master GX550 Power Supply Unit .
All these components are new and its been one week i bought them.
I just switched on the OC switches in the motherboard.
The system restarted twice and boom next time the i heard some
tip tip sound from the PC case and got the burning smell.
Took the mobo to a technician, he said the diodes are fried.
I gave it to the shop from where i bought them.
He said try his best to replace it and he cant assure anything.
Now i'm very much fucked up. Its jus been one week and the mobo fried.
I wish the processor and RAM and others are fine.
Just wanted to check the performance.
My processor temp would be around 50C and the fan would go around 7000 rpm.
The fan was soo loud. So i was jus planning to get a good heatsink and before
i could buy one this happened. Can anyone tell me what should i do? Any possibility of getting the cash back and getting some other mobo? If not then i will be getting this same mobo again. I dont know whether it will be serviced or replaced but it will have the same problem again. I will not be able to overclock again bcoz am so scared that i might fry it again.
I jus turned on the OC switch and started my PC. The mobo fried before i even got the desktop. I jus wanted to see the performance. Do i need to add cooling jus to start the PC with OC switch on?

amds are good for overclcking.all processors need extra cooling whether its an AMD or an INTEL.yours is a new computer right then you better ask for replacementof the mobo.if your processor is damaged then better get a new processor as the warranty of the former get void(since you overclock).
if you replace the mobo then it will be fine provided other parts are working well

Dude, you overclocked without proper cooling, ON AN AMD??? What is your problem? AMD is KNOWN for overheating, even at very low clock speeds, so I would have been intrigued if it did not blow. The Mainboard usually fries after the CPU goes (as it no longer gets the correct signals and stuff) so you might as well wave your CPU goodbye as well.
Now, let me tell you something: AMD is great, but not as great as Intel. There's a reason you pay half price for the parts, because they overheat. Please, do yourself a favour and don't do this again. It WILL be hilarious for the rest of us gamers.
Soz, not trying 2 b hard on u.
