What is the proper way to say this?
The people who live above me are quite noisy in bed. I'm going to tape a note to their door, but I'm not sure which is the correct phrase: "Have quieter sex, please." or "Have more quiet sex, please".
@cassie - Oh, I'm not concerned with what they think about the note. I just want the grammar to be correct.
When they have sex three or four times a day, each session being much longer than an hour and make no attempt to be quiet, I don't think they can complain when people overhear. And it was last night when they went from 11 P.M. to 3 A.M., non-stop, which pushed me over the edge.

lmao...If you ask them to have MORE QUIETER sex, it could actually get LOUDER! lol...this is a HUGE problem living in an apt. downstairs...been there many years ago and would rather live in my truck if it ever came to that! They don't even know they are making noise, let along TOO much noise for YOU! Anyway, the first one is good. Good luck! Or, you can wait til they get married! LMAO

Don't directly ask them to "have quieter sex" - it may be taken the wrong way!
Perhaps the best way to approach it is to mention how the noise travels in the house/building, and let them draw their own conclusions.
For example, leave a note saying something like: "Hi guys: I hope my loud music didn't disturb you yesterday. As you know, the floors in this place are extremely thin, and if your floor is as thin as my ceiling then you would know what I mean..."
Or word it however you want.
That way, you're not actually blaming them for having noisy sex - but you're blaming the thin ceiling for not having enough sound insulation, so they won't take offence. Also they will get the message!

Asking them to have "quieter sex" in the first place is not going to sit well with them. They'll either be embarassed or assume you're eaves dropping. Just ask them to keep the noise level down.
