how to get rid of mice who aren't making a home or eating my food?

We have found mouse droppings and cleaned the ground floor flat where ever we found these. There is no sign of nest making or eating any food. They therefore have not been trapped as food does not seem to be an issue.

We got a deterant that emmits a high frequency noise but it only works in the room its in and makes a tick so we didn't put it in the bedroom.

We woke up to one last night seemingly just try to get out of the room.

We are at our whits end and don't know how to get rid of them and keep them gone as we can't trap them?!?!?!

(Been baiting with peanut butter mainly as it can't fall off or be quickly taken without the trap going off)

Update:

I am in the UK for one so no way will it be roaches or gehkos and last night I did see it.

Maybe I will try tape then.

I know they are not eating in my flat as there are no signs of it...they get in from outside and must eat elsewhere

the droppings from the large outdoor roaches will be larger than a mouse, gecko will be rat sized. They will easily lick off peanut butter from a snap trap in a night. Place out the flat sticky traps where you see the droppings and see what happens.

Mice have poor eyesight and tend to move around the edge of rooms. Set your traps close to skirting boards across the run. Use a large nut on the trap spike as bait and the mouse will have to pull it and activate the trap.

Many people on Y/A advocate humane traps to catch them alive. In my experience they don't work very well.

If they are constantly leaving droppings behind, chances are, they're eating something from your home. You should try using "Provoke Rat Attractant" with PROVOKE RAT ATTRACTANT on "Catchmaster MaxCatch Giant Glue Boards" http://www.pestmall.com/catchmaster-maxcatch-giant... It'll surely help you catch those mice. These are both professional pest control products from PestMall which is a personally favorited online store of mine; I'm pretty sure they will work a lot better than the stuff you will find at your local hardware store. I hope the mice will be out of your home soon!

Have you seen the mice? Lizards, geckos and the like have droppings very similar to those of mice and are not attracted to peanut butter. Only insects.

I sometimes get mice in my sunrooom, so i tie little pieces of bacon with dental floss on the trap so they would have to pull and it, and the trap gets them everytime.

i've had luck with a product called mouse magic...they basically look like big tea bags and they're filled with peppermint and spearmint--which mice evidently hate--I put them all over my basement..and haven't seen one since (you've gotta change the out every so often)

    makes everything minty smelling too!
