What can I use to measure the output of my laser pointers?

I want to know the output of my lasers in milliwatts with a device that isn't too expensive. Any suggestions?

Update:

Looking specs up on the internet doesnothing, as many websites lie about the actual output, putting the very peak power as the power when it could be as little as half of that, maybe even less.

I've worked with lasers before and have taken direct measurements from various lasers so you can do it, but the meters aren't cheap. Your best bet is if you know someone that works with lasers directly, otherwise you're probably out of luck.

actually, the output in the spec is actual, so just look at the spec, then you can know. and i know pickegg.com/wholesale/Laser.html sells a large selection of lasers, if you want, you can go there to have a look.
