i pod touch software upgrade 3.1.3?

hey guys i want to download some apps but it ask me to update my software... will it erase everything like, my song on tap tap, music, videos and stuff..?

    no it willl not do anything to your ipod. but just incase you should back it up. like save your stuff on itunes
