Anyone ever heard of the Christmas exodus during basic?

was told would be able to come home for 2 weeks in December , then go back to finish up. Go to basic Nov 10. Was curious if this is for real , as I have never heard of it before? Leaving basic to go home to your family and returning??

Yes there is Christmas Exodus. You have to pay your own way home and back. If you stay it will be miserable. You will do details and might even have to move for the time. There is no training but still duties to be pulled.

The Army allows x-mas exodus , you pay the trip cost.

No other service allows exodus during basic.
