    Depends where your brackets should be. I'll give all the options.

    (-1 / 4x²) + 9 = 0

    9 = 1/4x²

    4x² = 1/9

    x² = 1/(4*9)

    x² = 1/36

    x = √(1/36)

    x = ±1/6

    -1 / (4x² + 9) = 0

    cannot be true

    -(1 / 4)x² + 9 = 0

    -(1 / 4)x² = -9

    x² = 9*4

    x = √36

    x = ±6

    You have shown no parentheses, so I am assuming it is (1/4) x^2 instead of 1 / (4x^2)

    Step 1) - 1/4 x^2 + 9 = 0

    Step 2) - 1/4 x^2 = -9

    Step 3) 1/4 x^2 = 9

    Step 4) x^2 = 36 (Cross multiplication 9 X 4/1))

    Answer: x = 6
