About a Cobra-Jet jet boat 1979?

I have a 79 Cobra Jet jet boat that I bought a couple years ago. I love the boat, but have seen none anywhere. I have only been able to find 2 pictures of this model on-line anywhere, and the pictures were of brochures. Anyone know anything about these boats as far as if there are any forums with owners or anything. Just weird. I feel like I have a jetboat that is "One of a Kind", but I know there has to be more of them out there.

Update:

Thats funny lol. the one for sale on craigslist is mine :)/ Im headed out to Portage lake to play on it today. Ill check the youtube video also to see if it is mine on there. i might have a video on there.

Take a look on youtube, "Cobra jet boats" there even a 1979. Or is that you. I don't know of any owners group. I think iboat.com has a forum on jet boats, but i'm not sure.

Have a look for a second hand RIB (rigid inflatable boat - the ones with the inflatable tubes on the side and a fibreglass/plastic hull). If you can get a 6metre one with a trailer you don't have any mooring costs and you can keep it out the water so less maintenance required. I would advise, if you don't have previous experience, that you contact the RYA (Royal Yachting Association) and ask them about training courses. I did one a few years ago and they are great fun to do but more importantly give you more experience and knowledge. Jet skis are extremely dangerous and as you say you can't take your friends out on one. A decent RIB could carry 6-7 people and they are much safer than a jet-ski and much more seaworthy. The other advantage with a RIB is that you can drop anchor in a nice bay somewhere which you can't on a jet-ski. I used to have RIB and have had jet-skis also and I'd have to say that although jetskis are a lot of fun I would go for the RIB any day. Another piece of advice is to look for one with an auxillary outboard motor - not much fun if the main engine breaks down while at sea and you have no way to get back to shore, theres no space for a backup motor on a jetski. Don't forget lifejackets and other safety equipment, for example a flare(hand-held), medi-kit, possibly a small GPS.

To the gentleman that started this thread. I also have a cobra jet boat. I'm almost done with the restoration, but I'm lacking some info. I see you had seen some brochures on line somewhere. Can you tell me where you seen those brochures? I've been looking for one.
