Is my hermit crab dead?
He is flipped over on his back and not moving you can see his legs i got him yesterday. i don't smell the stench of death but that may be because i put strong smelling cucumbers in there help is he dead??? D=

take the tip of a pencil or something like that and put it in between his big claw, if he/she is camping down on it then its alive if its not then its dead :( another thing that you could do is put it in 1 spot that you will remember and then in 24 hours check and if he/she has not moved then he/she is probally dead. check on it at night because hermits are nocternal and they are most active at night... i hope this helps!

if his legs are all loose and sticking out of his shell, then he's just molting. give him a while to grow his new skin and don't mess with him. if he's completely out of his shell and just lying there, then he's dead.
