Unfortunately you shouldn't have a problem finding sources, there's a lot of junk in the ocean.

The National Resources Defense Council (NRDC) tests the water at beaches so you can see what kinda crap (literally) you're swimming in. They also have a section on how acid rain gets into the ocean and screws it up too.

One kind of pollution that most people don't think of as "pollution" is sound, whales, dolphins, etc. use sound to communicate and find their way around. The NRDC is trying to stop the Navy from using sonar that can interfere with marine mammals.
