workplace bully. what to do?

This woman is all Miss "sweetness and light" on the surface... when I first met her she was nice to me too. Then after a few years, out of the blue she is nasty to me when no one else is listening. She is a sadistic *****. She says the nastiest things, in a double bind sort of way and it hurts me deeply. I can not say anything to anyone, because no one would believe me. I have done different things to get her to stop, including stopping her and saying "did you just hear what you said to me?", and nothing works. Today I tried to give her something and she was nasty... Fine.. I have tired to not talk to her, but her desk is now right next to mine. And the cold air coming from hers is upsetting too. I swear, if I didn't know better, I would think the woman possessed. She is the most evil human being I have ever met... but all sweetness and light on the outside. What, short of strangling her when the boss is out having a cigarette, can I do??

Update:

I have thought of recording her.. but she is hit and run.. and I can't do that on my cell phone... old lady... old phone.

Update 2:

lol. I can understand why you might not see anything wrong here... How long have you been dead? I am not putting the details. Trust me, she knows just what to say to stab you in the heart. I get along with most everyone... for years. Lucky till now, I guess. She is Satan!!

I myself am a victim of bullying, and one of the tactics I used that seemed to work was just completely ignoring her. I know it's hard, but Just act like you heard nothing of what she says, If you have to do some kind of business related stuff, just keep it short and to the point, yes no and leave. if she starts up on it, just walk of like you've got something to go to. she just wants to feel superior and have someone to step on, once the fun has left she might leave you alone

Well, that's your side of things. I don't see any "bullying" in what you state. This sounds more like a classic personality conflict. You don't have to like everyone - just tolerate them. Either learn to deal with unpleasant people or quit.

Record her on your cell phone and then go to the boss!
