Why is my internet going on and off?

I just had the internet set up yesterday, brand new modem, brand new wireless router. The internet on the modem is online for like an hour and then it goes offline for the next hour. I know it's not the wireless because we even plugged the ethernet cable into the modem and our computer and still nothing. Maybe someone has had this happen to them before that can help? We've called the company at least 3 times and they just tell us to unplug things and try again. They said they were going to send a technician over at 3 p.m. but it is now 10:30 p.m. and still a no show.

We got a netgear router when we went to Comcast. It worked fine on our old computer, but we got a new one & found the router would disconnect itself anywhere from once a week up to a couple times a day. We would have to unplug the router, plug it back in & wait for a few minutes. If anyone is having that problem, here is how we solved it per my brother in law's advice. Turn off your sleep mode. When the computer sleeps, then you push a key to wake it up, the router doesn't always catch that the computer is back on. If you don't know how to do this, go to Control Panel, then Power Options (hard to find if you have Windows 7), then there should be some sort of sleep option like Change When The Computer Sleeps. In there, change it to Never. It's okay if you have the monitor go off, but don't let the computer sleep. We haven't had the problems since we made this change.

i do no longer think of this is genuine, yet nevertheless it does sound attainable by way of fact that is basic to unfold the virus. properly that is genuine, it may't be genuine. i think of if he became transmitting the virus too he may be invested with the help of the FBI or some thing. Sounds off the wall, yet they do it to make advantageous human beings are not doing something to harm all people or the rest.
