Is it true that according to the Koran, Mosques are to be built on conquered grounds?

I figure that this would be a good place to get an answer. Since our liberals love Islam, Sharia Law and the Koran (Qu'ran in pretentious-liberalspeak), they have inevitably read the thing and have it memorized.

Is it true that the religion of peace is required to build mosques on conquered grounds?

Note: This was told to me by a Syrian-American, but I realize that liberals have better understanding of foreign cultures than people who are from those regions do.

Update:

DM, I am going to point out that I am not even a Christian. I am of no religion and am not even spiritual.

However, why do you feel the need to attack Christians because of something that I, a sovereign individual asked, directed at you guys?

Shhhhhh!!!!! Those who want to build that Mosque don't want the rest of us to find out about that little piece of Sharia law. Those liberals who support the building of that Mosque don't want to hear it. Once again, another thing for Muslims around the world, including terrorists, to laugh heartily at our foolishness.

See? The denials and excuses are starting already. It would be nice, though, to have some excuses that actually make sense. What am I thinking?! Liberals are making the excuses. Sorry, I forgot that for a moment.

Careful. By using the term "they" you are including a lot more people than you probably intend to include in your statements. Burning the Koran is just as offensive to Muslims as burning the Bible is to Christians, burning the Torah to Jews, etc. Honestly, what is the difference between having the freedom of speech to burn the Koran and having the freedom to build a Muslim Center (not a mosque) near Ground Zero? While I agree that just because it CAN be done, it shouldn't, I would say that goes for both book-burning (BTW, the Koran was written long before there was an America and therefore says nothing about killing Americans in it) and construction near a site that some Americans consider hallowed ground. And FYI, American Muslims are "real" Americans, too.

    No, that is absolutely false.

A mosque was built at Ayodhya on the temple celebrating Ram's birth place. The Qutab Minar was made from the ruins of 4,000 Hindu, Buddhist and Jain temples etc. But that was in the past, and was not done as a requirement of the Koran.

  • Building a mosque on or near Ground Zero is comparable to erecting a shrine for Hitler at the Holocaust Memorial Museum in Israel.

I have never been to Ground Zero; however, I have recently visited the Holocaust Museum in Israel; took a couple hours and was very intense and I'll never forget it.

I know this does not directly answer your question, but my intent is to bring reality to the front and center and hope hearts are touched in some way.

So one associate who is just labeled a "Syrian America" is your source?

No, it is not in the Koran. You can use me as a source in your next question. You can reference that I said Thomas Jefferson started the Budweiser corporation for your next question. I am a moderate who likes beer and whiskey. That makes me an expert!

First of All, the mosque is going to be built two blocks north of Ground Zero.

And secondly, I don't consider Ground Zero to be 'conquered ground'. They didn't conquer us, not even on that day. We prevailed.

Why are you insisting that liberals would support right wing conservatives from any nation???

We deal with our conservatives over here and we leave the middle easts conservatives up to their liberals. Obviously we are doing a much better job here.

Would it make you feel better to know that most of a New York mosques members will be black and American citizens? Does that even enter your thought process?

Yes, that is why Obama wants a mosque at ground zero. Next they will have one in the capital building unless we wake up.

No. What Sura in the Quran says this? You're citing a different islamic text.
