You can start with either one you prefer. The only difference there would be is you have to press down a bit harder on the strings on an acoustic guitar.. oh and there is no access to the higher frets(around like... 17-22, im not sure) but people who play acoustics rarely ever use these high frets anyway..
I myself started with electric, and had no problem learning how to play acoustic.. personally, i dont think there is really anything to "learn".. they are both guitars, and have the same 6 strings and frets. You can just do more with electric guitars and create a seemingly endless variety of tones(dont be too picky about this until you are a very good guitar player :P ).

Either one is fine. The acoustic is just a bit more of a stretch and harder on the fingers. So, going from acoustic to electric would be easier but it's not a rule or anything.

As others have stated, you can really start on either one, and neither is better than the other. They are good for accomplishing separate things, but the fundamentals are the same. Play and learn on whichever one you're more likely to stick with. Over time you'll probably be playing both eventually.
My personal preference is to start with an acoustic because it is tougher to cheat yourself on learning by dressing up the sound with effects.

In my opinion, acoustic is best to start with because it's harder. Once you learn acoustic, you can easily switch to electric. But if you learn electric first, you don't build the strength and dexterity for acoustic.
