what is the difference between 2.4 GHZ and 2.53 GHZ?
I was going to buy a new laptop for college and didnt know which Macbook Pro to go with. What is the speed difference between 2.4 and 2.53 GHZ in the 15 inch? Another question is what is the difference between 5400 rpm and 7200 rpm.

The speed difference between the 2.4 GHz and 2.53 GHz "Mid-2010" MacBook Pro models is modest. 7200 RPM hard drives are notably faster than 5400 RPM drives.
For the performance difference of the MacBook Pro line in "real-world" use -- including the 2.4 GHz and 2.53 GHz models -- this may be useful:

Hope this helps!

2.53 GHz is faster, but not by a ton. As for the Hard Drive speed, the higher the number the better. What it means is that your hard drive can load information faster. It won't effect you much for normal use, but if you are playing games with lots of stored data, or loading or saving large files on your hard drive (such as media editing), you will notice things going faster.
In just about any case, higher numbers are better for computers.

The .53 is barely faster, but the 7200 is WAY faster then a 5400 rpm hard drive.

The difference is 130Mhz, you won't notice it. With hard drives the faster the better.
