my dog died in 5 minutes?

The neighbor kids banged on door, my dog jumped up on the couch barking at them as usual. I went to the window to look out and by the time I turned around she was on the floor all feet in air shaking and then she was gone. I tried cpr everything there was just nothing she is gone. She was only 3 prfect health weight activity level nothing at all out the norm whole day normal it is just unreal I am still in shock has this ever happened to anyone. I'm so sad and confused she was the healthiest pet out of all my animals.

Wow, I am so sorry! This is very sad.

She may have had a heart attack or something. There is always the chance that she was harboring some congenital heart or lung defect that was never detected.

There is the option of a necropsy that your vet can perform. If you have another dog that is related to her, this might be a good way to make sure the other dog is not carrying a secret ailment. Otherwise, you'll have to decide if a necropsy would put your mind at ease or just be an added expense that you don't need.

    My deepest condolences.

She could have had a neurological or heart condition that flew under the radar. I've heard of a heart condition that sounds kind of like this that can be fairly hard to catch. It also sounds like she may have had a seizure. She could have also potentially gotten into some type of poison. It could have been many things. I'm so, so, so sorry to hear about your loss. Last year, I went through over 8 pet losses, from beloved dogs or cats to fish. And a week after my cat got run over by my neighbor, my grandmother, who was my best friend, died from cancer. So, in the past two years, I've been through some rough times. But God doesn't hand you anything you can't handle. Nobody is to blame, you just have to accept it and remember the good times. Good Luck, and God Bless. My condolences to you and you family.

I am very sorry for your loss. Sounds like a possible heart condition. You can take the body into the Vet to find out what happened. I would do that just for your piece of mind.

I'm sorry for your loss. It sounds like your dog had an undiagnosed heart condition. The vet could do an autopsy if it's really important for you to know what happened, but sadly that won't change the outcome.

I don't really have answer. The only reasonable explanation is that she had a stroke because dogs DON'T have heart attacks. My friend's dog was also three years old. He threw a frizbee to it and it jumped up and had a stroke right then and there. Then it died.

You didn't mention the breed but it sounds like a massive stroke or heart problem. A necropsy would tell.

when she jumped on the couch her intestines must have shifted, its a common problem with many dogs because their body structure is different from cats but they tend to jump around too.. rest in peace...
