Hi,
To get your system running again please do this:-
Use the “Windows Repair function on the install disk” this works for both XP and Vista
Put your XP or Vista disk into your CD drive and restart your system. This will start the XP installation process. When you come to the screen that asks if you want to install XP select this option, it will then ask if you would like to “Repair” XP, choose Repair. This will open the repair console command prompt go then at the prompt, enter this “CHKDSK C:/F” (or CHKDSK /F to repair the OS on the default HDD partition e.g. C:\). Now hit “Enter”. The repair should now start, it will then scan your HDD and then start the repair. Allow it to run until it stops. This can take some time, so be patient.
If all goes well, XP will replace or repair any and all missing operating system files.
If the system doesn’t boot from the disk press “F12” as it boots up and enter the BIOS to make sure that the boot sequence is set so that the CD drive boots before the hard drive.
If you do not have an XP installation CD, you can borrow one for this operation. Since you are “Repairing” Windows and not “installing” it, you will not be required to supply an installation “Key-Code”.
But please don’t tell MS that I told you ?????

if you need a recovery disc just go to this site and then download a copy :-

P.S.
also sorry to tell you but your Hard drive may be duff ????
but please try a repair first
hope this all helps you

the issue is usually associated with something already updated that is causing the conflict leading to the BSOD error you are experiencing. You can try two things go back into those repair options, try and use the System Restore feature, this will reload the registry based on a specific time and date and pick one without the last items added (including the update) though any files you created will be OK (docs, pics etc) any recent programs may need to be reloaded. If that does not solve your issue try this from the recovery console list. 1. Use the Command Prompt option, this opens to a black Window. 2. Type chkdsk /r and press Enter (note the space before the /) 3. Wait until it has finished, on a large drive this could be several hours. You will see a summary of your drives size and status, the important bit is Bad sectors, if you have none that is good, if you have a few then its not drastic (4 to 8kb) if you have a lot (32kb+) then you should consider changing the drive, if you have several hundred your drive is failing fast and you need to back up immediately if you can, try not to start the drive unless you have your back up media or solution ready and waiting. 4. Reboot and hopefully all is well.

your registry ( database full of configuations and security is corrupted) either due to a virus that was left to infect your PC or you changed a value on your registry.
try starting in safe mode ( may not work)
then put your operating system CD in and repair from the CD or even better re install as that will give you a fresh copy but NOTE you will need all your drivers prior to installation!

If it`s Vista or 7 press F8 as it`s starting up to bring up the repair screen.
If it`s XP press and hold the Ctrl key while pressing the F11 key as it`s starting up.

can be software or a hardware problem
will need to try to repair or format windows with the CD which came with the computer
how to boot from CD:
keep pressing delete/F1/F2 when the computer is starting to go into BIOS
when in the BIOS set first boot device as DVD-Rom
then when you start the computer it will say "press any key to boot from CD"
make sure you have a 25 digital windows license

Read this, run the diagnostics, your hard drive might be bad:

I recommend Express Test followed by Extended Test.
If your hard drive is okay, it might be possible to recover from this error, but it is a complex procedure:

you need a XP cd, or well any OS vista Win7 works too, and reinstall it, either that or take it to a shop and it will cost x100 times more.
