Why do you read novels?

To escape reality, in our real world there is enough going on. So it is nice to sit back and relax, while also being the omnipresent being.

Any person from my school could easily answer this question, it's sad that you don't know. Literature can be for personal entertainment or to gain knowledge. To pass boredom or to gain some kind of new knowledge. I think Novels definitely enrich the mind; whether it helps by expanding someones knowledge or just letting imagination grow. It's all in the creativity in a humans mind. I read novels because they're fun; more than fun, excitingly enriching and enticing. I believe people read books because it gives them something to do, something to talk about, something to enjoy without having to turn on a tv or go outside and bake in the sun. Books, novels, etc., shouldn't be seen as a waste of time or whatever you are trying to imply, but they should be respected as the timeless things that they are.

There are many different reasons why i read

First it helps me relax and dive into another world

It helps me escape reaility for a little bit

It broadens my imgination

I learn a lot about life after reading a good novel

Some novels make me laugh, gasp, and even sob

Novels teach me values and make me realize things i have never thought of before

And lastly they are just plain fun to read :)

I read to relax after a long day or to kill time while waiting in line or in doctor's offices. Watching TV makes me feel like my brain is atrophied, so reading is my preference.

As I get older, I'm aware of the need to maintain an active mind to keep senility at bay. Reading couldn't hurt.

I love reading books for a number of reasons -

- I want to be a published author so naturally reading would help me :)

- When you're upset or angry it always helps to read about someone else's problems. It gives you an escape.

Aah, my mind's just gone blank. I have loads more but I can't remember them at the moment lol xx

I like novels that include accurate, historical information. That way I learn something as well as escape from the everyday grind.

Entertainment.

I absolutely LOVE reading. I want to be a fantasy author, so I read lots of fantasy books for "research". I like reading realistic books as well, because they are often funny and touching.

Pleasure, to broaden my horizon and improve my intelligent.. Of course this doesn't include Twilight.. I feel thumb down

becasue I enjoy reading. It's a form of escapism.
