Well, you know when they were looking for designs for the new Trade Center buildings.

My idea was something like this:

Three buildings..picture it using your three middle fingers...

The first building being 50 floors, the second being 100 floors, the third being 50 floors.

    Facing east of course...

Source(s): NO MOSQUE for me either! I'm sorry, that just gets my knickers in a knot.

I think it's a testimonial to the money people. Everyone wants their own way and no one seems to consider the really big picture. Way before now,it should have been a place where people could go to contemplate their feelings about what happened that day. Our family lost 3 members and I know we'll never really get over it. I live in California and just got to see the site last year. I was more than disappointed. Now,we have the mosque possibly moving close by. I'm bewildered.

I do not think they know what to do with it. I heard they were going to rebuild it, but they wanted a certain structure and do not know what was ever decided to do with it. I saw where the mosque would be, and it is very close to the site, and I do not know what the purpose is of that. I would like to think that the people who performed the terrorist attacks are different from the religious ones, but who knows for a fact that is true? I still think the President could have said no and still could say no to it being built there. Maybe there will be protesters and they will decide against it themselves if the State or Government does not put a stop to it.

Because the roof was damaged by one of the planes involved in the terrorist attack on the Trade Center, I think it should be considered ground zero and made into a memorial. I understand that in this country the law protects the freedom of religion but if the decision were left to me, no mosque.

To build anything over this site other than a memorial would be a desecration.Sorry but the images of the horror and loss of life is still etched in my brain and infuriates me when the word "mosk" is mentioned being built on top.Yes,I intentionally mis-spelled the word.

Let the dead rest in peace and let this hole in the ground be a reminder to what the great "religion of peace" is trying to do to our world.

It's disgraceful and disrespectful. A memorial park should have been completed by now.

I worked in the area. On 9/11 I virtually ran out of my shoes and for my life, immediately after the 2nd plane hit. It was no joke passing through, and working in the area afterwards.

I am appalled by the fact that the land was not cleared, leveled and made into a memorial garden. There is not one square inch of the site that is not sacred and should not be treated with appropriate dignity. The gaping hole and grasping people who have muddled this are a tragic insult.

The laws of government are clear in terms of our freedoms, but morally, very bad judgement. Building a porn shop or gun shop across the street from a school, not acceptable, irregardless of your right to do so. Becoming responsible morally is also our duty. No mosque.

It matches the mood of America. We need to rebuild the center and our pride in America instead of feuding over every blasted thing we can think of. Some teamwork would be nice.

I think they should build a beautiful memorial garden. The names of everyone who perished that day should be engraved on a wall or marker so no one will ever forget the horror and waste of human life.
