I am confused about mantra pronunciation regarding the Bija Hum.?

I have seen it pronounced like Hum like the word shut in English, and I have seen it pronounced

as Hoom. For example, in the mantra Vakratundaya Hum, how do I pronounce this Hum?

I know Om Mani Padme Hum is pronounced like Hoom. I know Om Hum Hanamate Namaha

It's pronounced like chewing gum.

Please help... Vakratundaya Hum.

Update:

I did see youtube videos pronouncing it as Hoom, but some websites pronounce it like Hum as in chewing gum. Why the confusion? The videos on youtube don't explain why the websites are contradicting each other.

The Mantras in themselves are so powerful and potent that their forms both tangible and intangible have great effects. Mantras when written down in its parent language using phonetically correct syllables, Mantras when in memory form, Mantras as sound vibrations are very potent. An example of this can be seen in the Buddhist prayer wheels, where the mantras are engraved on drums which are then rotated by people, this rotation of the written Mantra energizes the air and in turn the person around it. So I feel that while chanting a mantra the utmost important thing is to have perfect pronunciation, intonation, meter, meaning, and faith in that order. Thanks to C. Sri Vidya Rajagopalan ji for elucidating with examples the importance of pronunciation while chanting of a Mantra. Morya! :)

It is not hum as in humming

    But hum as is human.

Before reciting mantras please learn to pronounce 51 letters in sanskrit. These 51 letters are called mothers of all mantras. Reciting these 51 letters is also a Japa. So first try it.

You want to chant the Mantram because it is powerful and gives you beneficial results.

It can be harmful if the Mantram is pronounced wrongly.

My sincere advice - Go to a Guru near you in your locality and take guidance.

This is not something that is resolved on the internet. You have to say it aloud in the presence of the Guru and he would correct you if you are doing wrong.

    Be careful.
