Is the tax free weekend crowd worth the 8 cents on the dollar you save?

Update:

Yeah, I just don't know about fighting people off in order to save $4 off of $50 worth of supplies, lol.

Update 2:

I agree if I were spending $500 I might consider it. Luckily I don't have multiple kids to buy for.

I don't see the point. My state didn't do tax free weekend this year, but several stores put together some sort of sale where you save at least the amount of money taxes are, if not more.

It was tax-free week here last week. It all depends on how much you spend. If you're going to be spending the $100 anyway, is $8 worth the crowds? How about if you're spending $500? Is that worth $40 to you?

My husband and I went to the mall tax free weekend. We didn't realize it was tax free weekend, we just actually had a day off together. Luckily we went early and beat the crowds. I love my new tax free $40 bra lol.

Maybe if you are planning on spending massive amounts of money but consider it this way: You have to spend $100 in order to save $5! Not much gained for all your time and trouble.

Any sale day I don't bother with. When it comes to crowds and trying to save money, I would just as soon spend the little extra that deal with that.

Last year I did tax free weekend online. I bought some toms, a couple skirts, and a Vera Bradley backpack (for my birthday).

I went out on the tax free weekend and it wasn't crowded at all. I went to Target and Staples. I may have seen a crowd if I went to Wal-mart, but I hate that place.

Oh, haha.....and Kohls and JcPenny for the clothes.

I get in a snit over two things: taxes and shipping & handling. I look at it this way. I needed a living room set anyway. All i did was postpone it a month.

only if the item costs a fair number of dollars.
