Is this a valid statement on my part?(Christianity)?

The Gospel of the grace of God tells us how God makes us right in his sight. This is accomplished from start to finish by faith. As the Scriptures say, “It is through faith that a righteous person has life.”

But God shows his anger from heaven against all sinful, wicked people who suppress the truth by their wickedness. They know the truth about God because he has made it obvious to them. For ever since the world was created, people have seen the earth and sky. Through everything God made, they can clearly see his invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature. So they have no excuse for not knowing God.

Yes, they know God, but they won’t worship him as God or even give him thanks. And they begin to think up foolish ideas of what God is like. As a result, their minds have become dark and confused. Claiming to be wise, they instead have become utter fools. And instead of worshiping the glorious, ever-living God, they worship idols made to look like mere people and birds and animals and reptiles.

So God has abandoned them to do whatever shameful things their hearts desire. As a result, they do vile and degrading things with each other’s bodies. They trade the truth about God for a lie. So they worship and serve the things God created instead of the Creator himself, who is worthy of eternal praise! That is why God abandons them to their shameful desires. Even the women turn against the natural way to have sex and instead indulge in sex with each other. And the men, instead of having normal sexual relations with women, burn with lust for each other. Men do shameful things with other men, and as a result of this sin, they suffer within themselves the penalty they deserved.

Since they think it foolish to acknowledge God, he abandons them to their foolish thinking and lets them do things that should never be done. Their lives become full of every kind of wickedness, sin, greed, hate, envy, murder, quarreling, deception, malicious behavior, and gossip. They are backstabbers, haters of God, insolent, proud, and boastful. They invent new ways of sinning, and they disobey their parents. They refuse to understand, break their promises, are heartless, and have no mercy. They know God’s justice requires that those who do these things deserve to die, yet they do them anyway. Worse yet, they encourage others to do them, too.

1) The fear of God is the beginning of wisdom. People are scared of all sorts of things, but when we come to be afraid for our eternal end we start to change for the better. Fear does motivate people, but it's not a bad thing.

2) God IS. He did not begin, He will not end. Exodus 3:14 "I AM that I AM."

3) Everyone is evil, and will go to hell without Jesus, that is true; but people who say that are definitely missing the point of spreading the good news of Jesus' love.

4) If they were trying to make sense of things, how did they come up with something so strange that no one can really understand all of it?

5) God and the angles cry when a baby dies. It was not part of His good, pleasing and perfect will... but the truth is, we sinned and brought death into this world, and now that affects even our most precious members. In Heaven there will be no death or suffering (and those children do go to heaven), but God has not yet destroyed sin and death so things like that will continue to happen.

6) Satan is the Father of lies, and if people listen to just any spirit that speaks to them without testing the spirits (1 John 4) they might do things which they think are from God, but are lies from the devil.

7) I only know that YHWH speaks and acts in this world, and that I haven't heard any other God or seen miracles from any other God.

8) I don't know if animals have souls, but I do know that humans were created in God's image, while creatures were just part of God's imagination. I'm not sure if that means anything as far as heaven and hell, but since God created this world "and saw that it was good" (genesis 1), I would assume that animals would be a part of Heaven.

James 1:13 "When tempted, no one should say, "God is tempting me." For God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does he tempt anyone."

You can't generalize from some to all Christians anymore than I can generalize some atheists to all atheists. "Why are atheists bitter and angry toward life? etc"

1. The majority of Christians do not use scare tactics. Descriptions of hell are to assure us of justice, not to scare us into being good.

2. God is an eternal being that created time, space, mass, etc. It is impossible for the creator of time and space to have a beginning.

3. To say someone who argues against the existence of God is kind and caring is just as judgmental of a statement as that the atheist is evil. You just disagree with the judgment. Some Christians just as some atheists are mean and hateful and will be held accountable for their actions.

4. Christianity was created to bring hope to the hopeless and comfort to the suffering.

5. God did not create birth defects, infant deaths, or down syndrome. Human beings chose separation from God who is the source of light, life, and healing. Suffering exists to teach us compassion. It is not God's fault that so many choose to react with indifference. In Heaven the good who suffer will be rewarded with an eternity of joy, and a life of pain will seem like a faded, passing dream.

6. The attrocities committed by communists and fascists are no less brutal but far more widespread in history than those by religious fanatics.

7. Christians believe there is only one creator of the universe and all other religious stories point toward this reality. One God, one Christ, one baptism, as revealed by the prophets.

8. Many Christians do believe in doggy heaven and other such versions of the afterlife that include animals. Human beings are special and hold a special place in God's creation, because we can conceive of a living, loving God, children, not pets of God.

1: Oftentimes those seeking converts will use such things, yes.

2: Again, sometimes. Or "he's always existed" others do actually answer "I don't know"

3: Yup.

4: Same can be said about any religion.

5: I don't get this one either but eh.

6: Because otherwise they probably wouldn't be stupid enough to blow themselves up. Plus "Because it helps me stay in power" is a lot less convincing coming from the higher ups.

7: Its part of their religion as far as that goes to reject all other beliefs in favor of the bible.

8: The ones that believe this seem to believe humans are specially created with souls and other animals exist solely for humans to use.

This is just my opinion on most of these, don't take them wholly at face value as I am just as fallible as anyone else.

I am a Christian, and here are my brief thoughts on a few of your questions. Please don't make a full judgment on Christianity based on a few misguided people. Some Christians lose site that Jesus set the ultimate example of love when they use "scare tactics," etc. instead of showing love to others.

1. I don't think you can say "Christianity"--I think it has to be that certain people may use scare tactics when trying to share their faith with others (or share their fear??).

2. You must have faith to be a Christian. Everything doesn't have proof or logic. That's the beauty of it.

4. Christianity is possibly the only religion that is solely based on a historical event (Jesus' death), so people did not make it up. (by this I mean - even if Muhammad wasn't around, Islam is still quite based on a set of rules, Judaism isn't based on a particular event in history, etc.)

6. GOOD QUESTION!! They are wrong! :)

1) Heaven and Hell simply function as a way to recruit people to their religion by presenting a punishment for all non-believers and a reward for anyone who joins their ranks. Obviously the punishment involved has to be scary enough that people would be willing to participate in delusional religious worship out of fear... hence the eternal fire and brimstone.

To put it simply, the Devil is the ruler of this world.

The Kingdom of God is coming..and life will be wonderful then.

So, if you don't want to be a Christian just say so, but if you do, nothing will stop u.
