Anyone else really sick of the "food police"?
The government, nutritionists, food columnists, etc. Why is it necessary to change foods we loved? I realize this is not health food, and I certainly wouldn't eat it every week, but when I want the stuff, I'd like it to taste like it used to. Examples would be McDonald's fries, McDonald's fried pies, KFC fried chicken, Burger King onion rings, Wendy's fries and chicken nuggets, etc. Why is it necessary for restaurants to change because apparently the American public is too stupid to make correct food choices. This really irritates me.

Well, obesity has reached epidemic proportions. The public seems to be unable to correct the issue themselves so government has decided that it needs to correct it for us.
I do agree that trans fats needed to be removed from products. That's a huge issue that only governmental intervention would have changed because the bottom line was cheap, shelf stable fats that made the manufacturers more money. Same with HFCS. It's all about using cheap ingredients and making more money.
And our food supply is not safe. Look at the 32 million eggs "recalled" for salmonella. The catch is that it took so long for the FDA to pinpoint the problem that most of those eggs have been consumed. These eggs were produced and packaged back in June and July! How many of us have eggs in our fridge that long?
And I do think a large part of the "taste" issue with the foods is that they are using the cheapest quality (once again, higher profits) and sorry but cheap food just does not have the flavor. But of course, Mc D's would never admit to that............

So, you're saying even though McDonald's is taking advantage of children by advertising their eye-catching toys that come along with the McDonald's Kid's Meal, it is perfectly fine for a major corporation like them to do that? wrong. Schools should even ban potato chips and cornmeal snacks like Flamin' Hot Cheerios and Doritos, beverages like Gatorade, ''vitaminwater,'' and Diet Coke, etc.
