You should always have an anti-virus solution on any computer connected to the internet, even if you only use one site. Browsing the internet isn't the only way to get viruses, and besides, there are some really good free anti-virus programs out there. I'd recommend Avast! Free edition.

Yahoo is not as 'safe' as they would like you to think.
Apart from the bastard who posts a link to a malware site, and the occasional annoying spammer, Yahoo itself does not 'sanitize' ads it displays.
As always, they have their eye on profit by any means.
Users of "Web of Trust" will see that some of the ads displayed on the immediate right (served up by " rds.yahoo.com ") have red warnings.
Using the Windows on the Internet requires each person to be responsible for his/her machine; you are not in a "cradle of security", nor is there any special protection provided by anyone, at any time: you must become your own security expert... plain and simple.
Multiple layers, and constant vigilance are only part of the equation, and for the average home user, that begins with a firewall, and a reputable anti-virus.

Hi.Yahoo answers is safe indeed.I use it all the time to answer peoples questions. However you should use anti-virus in general to protect your computer against harmful things.

an extremely stable secret agent ware detector/deletor, i take advantage of it. For antivirus, maximum places will make you pay, and those that don't won't permit you delete them very nicely, so it particularly is terrific to flow out and purchase Norton Antivirus..or pirate it, regardless of.

Yes, this application by Yahoo is pre - virus refined application. Whenever you open it in your browser, it internally checks for the viruses through their server and shows you the clean application.
