how do you get rid of the smell of cat urine on clothes or a rug?
My cat peed on a towel and the bathroom rug and even after washing them there still is a faint smell

Wash them again, but this time put white vinegar in both the bleach and the fabric softener dispenser. Our pet pees on stuff all the tie, and this always seems to work!

If it is a cheap rug, your best option is to throw it out and call it a loss. Even the professionals sometimes have trouble removing this type of odor and you can not purchase the needed chemical it takes to remove this. If it-is an expensive area rug, calla carpet .

I used to have a cat. If the rug can be bleached use it. If your clothes are white cotton, use bleach. If you can't bleach them, throw them away and then find out why the cat is peeing out of the litter box. Normally the cat has an infection or their box is dirty or they don't have a box. I used to have a cat.

that's a tough smell to get rid of! About the only thing that might kill it is something baking soda based. I know for clothes, Arm & Hammer laundry soap is wonderful. throw in washing soda, and you're laughing.
