why rbc of fishes, amphibians and reptiles have nucleus?

The RBCs of aves and mammals don't have nucleus because of to carry more O2 molecules, but why the RBCs of fishes, amphibians and reptiles don't have nucleus in RBC

    So do the fetal RBC's of mammals, including humans. In mammals this characteristic is lost as the fetus grows.

    You'd think that birds, with their need for more oxygen, would lack the nucleus too, wouldn't you? It might just be one of those quirks of evolution.
