Is it ok to accept a dinner invitation from a high school crush?

I have been married for 5 years and have 2 kids . My reunion was this year so a lot of old friends contacted me on Faceb**k including a friend that I had a crush on way back when. Recently a friend of his passed away and I sent an email to him wishing him well. He replied and said he would be in our home town for a couple of months and asked if I would like to have dinner/lunch. So my question is; is it ok to have dinner to catch up or is that inappropriate? We never dated or ever came close. We were in theater together for 3 years and were friends.

Yes, this is fine. You are adults now and have your own lives. This is just a friendly catch up on someone from school. Sometimes, people want to see what others their age are doing and compare. Go, have fun, and act as though this person is your brother-in-law or a gf.

If you are uncomfortable with the dinner/lunch out...then invite him to your home for a cookout with your family.

If you're married and you don't have feelings for the guy then I don't see what the problem is as long as you tell your husband where you're going and with who.. it's just like catching up with old high school friends since you never even dated.

Yes? Just make it clear that you have been married for 5 years and have 2 kids. Do it or you might regret it. (You know you'll do it anyway.)

Very appropriate if your husband comes along.

    Inappropriate if he doesn't.
