All these people for the Mosque need to watch the videos of the 9/11 attacks again. Not just the ones of the plane hitting the buildings and the buildings falling, but the ones where the camera holder turned it onto all the people standing in the streets. Some crying, some screaming, some speechless. Listen to the 911 calls where you hear the person scream right before the building collapses on them. It really brings back up those same feelings we all felt the day of the attacks and helps bring a whole new light to this issue. It helps understand the feelings of the families of the victims of 9/11.

If it weren't for some of the families of the victims of 911, there would have been no 911 Commission. Some of them actually still believe the government was somehow involved in it and have lawsuits pending against Bush, Cheney, et al. Others just took the money the government offered them to keep their mouths shut to ease their grief and monetary problems. I have no doubt all of them supported the war in Afghanistan but I doubt that they all supported the war in Iraq, at least initially.

Let's put one thing in perspective here. While I don't like the lunatic-fringe left-wingers who currently run the democrat party, it is not fair to implicate the entire group. I'm sure that there are a good number of dems disgusted on a daily basis at the lack of competence in the current administration and congress, in general. I am in agreement that it would be irresponsible to allow a mosque to be erected at ground zero. One has to wonder about the logic of doing so when requests to rebuild several churches in the area have been denied by both local and federal officials?

EDIT: Then again, responders like CANTANKEROUS and NOSTRAMA come along to reinforce your point!

Some Republican support the Mosque. I understand the point of view of property rights advocate like the New York Mayor. I would hate to buy a home and have other people tell me what to do with it. I want to put a freaking wind turbine on my lot to save electricity. I wonder if I can convince people that the wind mill is really a very large Whirlygig. I think it's idiotic for a mosque to be builty so close to ground zero. It's worse considering what the mosque is being built for. They say it's to bring Westerners and Muslims closer together. Obviously it is failing the stated objective. If people are to be treated as equal, both sides need to listen. The people initially refuse to talk about the situation. I heard they have warm up to a discussion at this point. As for other muslim sites near ground zero, I have bno objective if it was built before 9-11. It would be obvious that they didn't move there as a sign of disrespect. And a message to the liberals, look at this in a practical manner. You guys claim we some (if not all of us) are people of hate), what do you think will happen when the mosque would be built. DOn't you think it would be unsafe for them to be there as well? There are a lot of emotion on 9-11, don;t you think some nut or a family member of one who died, might take it out on them in some misguided thought of revenge.

The Libsurgents exposed the traitorous leaning years ago. People have had enough of Liberals and they are going to be taken to the woodshed the next few elections.

This is just another poke in the eye by the Islamic fundamentalists. Some day they will push the wrong button and we Americans will take care of this farce once and for all. They want jihad? they will get a jihad they won't soon forget.

Source(s): And by the Way. It's not only where they want to build it, but who is trying to build it, and where the money is coming from.
