for goodness sake this arguement belongs 1000 years back.

what makes someone think that a female pastor has any less credibility than a male one. that she is undeserving of this sort of position. it's disgusting.

people like your friend who think this, obviously want women to be uneducated, and 'quiet', and feeling inferior, so that they don't start, or have a chance to form their own opinions about life and the world, so they don't begin to 'question' the things they have been taught, so they can be controlled by men like your friend who underneath, are deeply insecure, and need to feel powerful. they basically want to manipulate a women into thinking that they are nothing without their husband/boyf whatever. it's disgusting

so tell your friend from me, to grow up and grow some balls. also be sure to tell him that anybody, female, male, whoever, would make a better pastor/teacher etc, than he ever would. also remind him it's 2010 AD, not 2010 BC.

Source(s): sorry for the rant, but people like that make me wanna punch something. GO FEMALE PASTORS (AND OF COURSE MALE PASTORS, BUT THE QUESTION WAS ABOUT FEMALES SO....GO FEMALE PASTORS.)

While the Bible is explicit that women should not speak in church, it is taken of of context. Consider this article by Matt Slick over at www.carm.org :

n a social climate of complete equality in all things, the biblical teaching of only allowing men to be pastors and elders is not popular. Many feminist organizations denounce this position as antiquated and chauvinistic. In addition, many Christian churches have adopted the "politically correct" social standard and have allowed women pastors and elders in the church. But the question remains, is this biblical?

My answer to this question is, "No, women are not to be pastors and elders." Many may not like that answer, but it is, I believe, an accurate representation of the biblical standard. You make the decision after reading this paper.

First of all, women are under-appreciated and under-utilized in the church. There are many gifted women who might very well do a better job at preaching and teaching than many men. However, it isn't gifting that is the issue, but God's order and calling. What does the Bible say? We cannot come to God's word with a social agenda and make it fit our wants. Instead, we must change and adapt to what it says.

It does sound like your friend is generalizing. Women certainly can be called to preach or teach the word of God. That doesn't mean they are the pastor of the church or rule in authority over the men in the church. I'm sure, just like any other position in life, they can be wacky, wrong or even evil. Or they can also be submissive to their husbands, supportive of their husbands and be mothers and grandmothers. Look at Joyce Myers. Judge what the person is preaching and teaching. Look at their lives, their fruit, examine what they are saying along side the Word. Are they representing the Jesus you are following? The teachings of the Bible? Your friend sounds insecure or legalistic. Where is the freedom in Christ?

there is not any longer something interior the bible that states that a woman can't be a pastor. I even have attended a methodist Church, even even though it became in no way lead by way of a guy. i individually do no longer understand what their doctrine says approximately it. If God has moved you in certainly one of those trend which you're feeling you have been anointed by way of God and stay by way of his observe then decide for it. you may no longer continually think of roughly how or what human beings sense, while it incorporates glorying God. you may compliment God because of the fact of your hearts choose otherwise it would not actually matter huge variety.

Your bible spells out God's requirements and qualifications to be one of his ministers. (1Timothy 3:1 This is a faithful saying: If a man desires the position of a bishop, he desires a good work. 3:2 A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife, temperate, sober-minded, of good behavior, hospitable, able to teach; 3:3 not given to wine, not violent, not greedy for money, but gentle, not quarrelsome, not covetous; 3:4 one who rules his own house well, having his children in submission with all reverence 3:5 (for if a man does not know how to rule his own house, how will he take care of the church of God?); 3:6 not a novice, lest being puffed up with pride he fall into the same condemnation as the devil. 3:7 Moreover he must have a good testimony among those who are outside, lest he fall into reproach and the snare of the devil.) As you can see according to the requirements laid out here there is no room for a woman.

My belief is irrelevant the teachings in Scripture is very clear about females being allowed as Pastors (Bishops and Priests). My belief is that if a church does not follow the teachings of Scripture they are not truly a Christian church but have become something other than Christian.

The dangers of modernization is that the Traditions of the early Church Fathers are abandoned for political correctness. The result is that even Scripture will be abandoned and you'll have people rewriting the Bible to suite their own personal beliefs instead of following the true beliefs.

Never is there a command or example that allows women to take authority and speak in the assembly or class where men are present and have the responsible to lead. This was given by God since the beginning as He made man first and responsible for leading. Never was a woman allowed except where no man would stand and lead. In Acts, never was it exampled that women speak and when they were, there had to be a command through the apostle Paul for them to stop.

Get to the details of the word of God on these things for yourself so you can help him understand the full scope of the truth, and so you can freely stand for and in the Power and the freedom it is toward that God has Given you in the accomplishments of Jesus Christ. It is a very common error that Christians follow. It is not only oppressive of women, but very oppressive of the Love and Power of God in the world in people's lives. It basically says that literally half the world's population is not allowed to be as powerful for God in the world as the other half. Like God is going to be against His own Purposes like that? It couldn't be more destructive or foolish. The details of the full evidence of the scriptures reveal peoples errors, and how to overcome them. Study its details for yourself, so you are strong.

After reading with her 1 Corinthians 14:34-35.... read with her verse 36

    1 Corinthians 14:36:

36What? came the word of God out from you? or came it unto you only?

Ask her what verse 36 means. What it means is Paul is rebuking the men of Corinth for coming up with such an idea. Women can be preachers and teachers too.

look Paul the same man who wrote that praised Pheobe for her works along with serveal others.

Who is the head of the Church?

    Jesus Christ of course

    Who is the wife?

    The believer of course

So answer this, who should be submissive to the Husband?

The believer is the slave of Jesus Christ

let the HOLY SPIRIT speak within you who is God and Jesus Himself, and dont speak on your own accord.

Why do so many people miss this?

Paul was not codmening women, He was codemning people without the Holy Spirit to shut up and sit down, and let the ones that are Spirit filled to teach and Preach.

God appointed WOMEN as judges over Israel before any KING in Israel existed.
