There will be wars and rumors of wars ~ Matthew 24:6

For they are God's servants working for your good. But if you do what is wrong, you should be afraid, for it is not without reason that they bear the sword. Indeed, they are God's servants to administer punishment to anyone who does wrong.l ~ Romans 13:4

The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the iniquities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men. Blessed is he, who in the name of charity and good will, shepherds the weak through the valley of darkness, for he is truly his brother's keeper and the finder of lost children. And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who would attempt to poison and destroy my brothers. And you will know my name is the Lord when I lay my vengeance upon thee.

God said though say not kill. People make a choice to kill or not to kill. Even in war a soldier is forced to make a choice to kill or be killed.

    Thou, thou

And the only exception for war or violence should be when defending another person or nation that is too weak to defend his, her, or itself. Killing for oneself or for revenge is sinful, but killing to defend another is honorable, and even then killing should be a last resort, a final attack when all diplomacy has failed. At least this is how war and violence should be treated by Christians in theory.

To kill an enemy in context of war is not directly covered in the Bible. I don't really know or care, just giving you the facts.

Fine, next time a Hitler rises to power, we'll all just sit back and let him kill everyone. Happy now?

It was God who said "thou shalt no kill," and He said it through the ten commandments, delivered to the Jews, by Moses.

God has the power to bring the dead back to life, so technically we can't even destroy a soul.

    The verse means murder.

If you insist, here is the literal translation:

    Exodus 20:13 (Young's Literal Translation)

    13`Thou dost not murder.
