Is there anyway to make my monitor brighter?

I have my macbook pro hooked up to a monitor on the top shelf of my desk and when I sit in my chair and look up to it looks so dark, especially towards to top of the screen. It makes it almost impossible to watch movies/ videos on. I just turned up the brightness and contrast up all the way, is there anything else I can do?

Thanks!

When the founding fathers discovered Apple..... they renamed it Apple Mac or P. Diddy for short. The problem they discovered since the very beginning was that the monitor was not bright enough. After billions and billions of tax payers money went into this- they made a movie about it (Avatar) but they cannot resolve the problem. It took a humble person by the name of Emmanuel Lewis to use a flashlight and shine it on the monitor itself. Only then this problem was overcome. A note of precaution however- one must wear sunglasses to avoid the brightness of the monitor.

Send it to college and let it get a degree in engineering and if it does well it will get brighter. LOL

Now on a more serious note. Most of the new LCD monitors do not have active matrix screens. Active matrix LCD screens do not have the limitations that normal LCD screens have, and can be viewed almost perfectly from just about any angle, either from one side or the other or from below or above. My suggestion would be to change the viewing angle of your monitor, in order to get the best viewing angle place the monitor at or near eye level.

Try to change the angle of looking at the monitor.Usually person should look at the monitor straight, not from down up.
