Better Cubs manager: Dusty Baker or Lou Pinella?
It's an interesting debate because while Sweet Lou did lead the Cubs to the playoffs more times than Baker (2>1) and managed one of the best Cubs team of the past fifty years (2008), he never won a playoff game in Chicago while Baker had a Cubs team one win away from a World Series.
Also, this question is only about the two's time as CUBS manager, so Baker's time in San Fransisco or Pinella's time in Cincinnati and Seattle DON'T COUNT in this debate. With that being said, what do you think?

Obviously Baker was much better with the playoff appearances he's made. Lou hasn't been nowhere but in the umps face for the last 2 decades. no way Lou is better at all.

Baker. Lou hasn't done jack in about two decades. The Reds were supposed be worse than the Cubs this year. Who picked the Reds? Nobody. Who picked the Cubs? A bunch of people. Who's in playoff contention? The Reds. Who goes sulking home to mama? Lou Pinella!

You answered your own question.Piniella won exactly ZERO playoff games with a team that many expected to be in the WS.Lou Piniella was quite probably the most over-rated manager of his time and definitely the wrong choice for the Cubs.
I'm voting Dusty Baker as the better of the two.

Lou Piniella. He did not ruin the careers of two promising pitchers (more so Mark Prior than Kerry Wood)
