Why are we using small signal analysis in bjt?

If we know the current and voltage for bjt to become amplifier, why are we bothering analysis the small signal? say if we are going to amplify radio wave, can't we just use the gain of the amplifier(in forward bias) times the wave to get larger amplitude?..

    You must analyze the incoming signal and match it to the outgoing signal using an oscilliscope. More often that not, someone will think, I can really amplify this signal, and while a handheld DVM may say you're doing that, the O-scope will tell you "no you are not!"

    You analyze the incoming signal to check its frequency and amplitude. This allows you to pick a BJT that will work at the given frequency. You analyze the outgoing signal to ensure it is not CLIPPED or saturated! This is where you go into a non-linear mode and distort the crap out of your out going signal.

    Just remember, if you have a 10V power supply the best Vout will have is 10Vpp!
