Should we repeal the first amendment, or let the terrorists win?

I say we need to repeal freedom of religion -- take it out of the Bill of Rights right now or the terrorists will win!!

They will be playing basketball, they will be swimming, they will be Muslim, and they will be near Ground Zero rubbing their Yoga class in our faces!

Update:

Seriously, the community center needs to be built, if only to prove we are still a free country.

There is no way to ever appeal to people who are so ignorant that they confuse Islam with Terrorism. Al Qaeda is not building a memorial to the terrorists near ground zero. If they were, maybe then you can compare it to putting up a monument for the Kamikaze's in Pearl Harbor, or putting up a Nazi Memorial in Auschwitz.

Equating all Muslims to terrorism is like saying the YMCA is affiliated with the Ku Klux Klan.

First of all why are there so many misconceptions about Islam in this section?

If you think that Islam is oppressive to women than why are more women converting to Islam than men?

Go to the link below and look at this NBC news report of Christian women converting to Islam

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rfx4glTU5JQ

I even had a girlfriend once who was a Baptist Christian and later after we broke up shortly before 9-11 happened she wanted to learn about the misconceptions there are about Islam that was on tv and she became a Muslim. We are still friends and I have never seen a happier woman than her. She tells me that Muslim women are not what we see in the media.

I myself have traveled to Kuwait, Malaysia, and Turkey and none of those Muslim countries are oppresive to women and none of them were terrorist supporters.

Whenever the media reveals unconscionable stories about honour killings, genital mutilation, forced marriage, the punishment of rape victims, women being confined to their homes or women being denied education they are revealing a tale of men and women who are ignorant about the status of women in Islam.

Please learn that al-Qaeda is not truly a Muslim group. 300 Muslims were killed in the September 11 attacks. Al-Qaeda has killed more Muslims than any other religious group because true Muslims know that what al-Qaeda does is against Islam. There are thousands of Muslim Americans serving in the U.S. Military to help protect this country.

New York's Mayor Bloomberg and many other Jewish groups and others along with the Muslim Americans are hoping that by building this Islamic community center which includes a pool will help clear misconceptions about Islam and Muslims. They are hoping that when people come to this community center they will learn the difference between true Islam and what Al-Qaeda calls Islam.

You can call Ground Zero sacred ground but why would you call an old Burlington Coat Factory that is two blocks away from it sacred ground? That old Burlington Coat Factory is where the mosque is going to be.

I have been to Malaysia and Turkey and both of those Muslim countries allow Christians to unquestionably build churches.

If you really want to know what Islam is, go to the link below

I know a lot about different religions including Islam. I have a degree in comparitive religion.

The Quran says "if anyone killed a person not in retaliation of murder, or (and) to spread mischief in the land - it would be as if he killed all mankind, and if anyone saved a life, it would be as if he saved the life of all mankind."(Quran 5:32)

Yes there are some hypocrites who may not be following what they should be just like there are Christians who are not following there religion correctly. Haven't you heard of the IRA Catholic terrorist group? and the Baptist KKK?

I am American, I have been working with many Muslims at work for a long time and none of them are American hating terrorist supporters.

Muslims make up 1/4 of the world's entire population. You cannot blame every Muslim in the world for the acts of a few bad ones.

But I keep seeing in this section that some people think that all Muslims are anti-American.

Why be so ignorant? Go to the link below and find the truth about what religion is Obama is from Collin Powell.

A yes but but look at how this country was formed, the reason freedom of religion is in the Bill of Rights is because the its every person's right to have their own religion no government can tell us what religion we can have or can't have.

So if freedom of religion is repealed...what will happen to the catholics, protestents, Hari Krishas, Southern Baptists......?

Just remember, if you do it for one then it applies to all. I don't think the catholics will be too impressed at no longer being able to swim, play basketball or take yoga classes.

thats a top question---i think of humorous questions are ensuring that they lose.yet being a troll and consistently reporting for no stable reason is definately letting the terrorists win.

I gave up on the mosque issue it is too stupid and boring. But I sure was disgusted on how fast the Liberals sided with the Muslims. It was like watching a mother find out her son was diagnosed with cancer and hearing her say to the doctor, "that's OK, I believe you, oh well, no need for a second opinion".
